Hair Cortisol Concentrations in Latinx Adolescents

About

The student will assist with the development of a protocol to quantify hair cortisol as a biomarker of chronic stress. Participants were recruited as part of the Richmond Environment and Asthma Community Health (REACH) study, which aims to examine how extrinsic and intrinsic factors contribute to asthma prevalence. The study population includes predominantly Latinx adolescents between 8-16 years old. Factors (demographic and hair care practices) that influence hair cortisol measurements will also be explored.
