Learning Objectives:

At the completion of this activity, the learner will be able to:

  • Differentiate whether an injury arose out of employment
  • Report the cause of the injury from a physician’s perspective and provide direct evidence on whether and how the activities of work led to the injury 
  • Describe what does and does not constitute substantial medical evidence

Speaker Biography:

Dr. Steven Feinberg is Board Certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the American Board of Pain Medicine and the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine. He is a California Qualified Medical Evaluator (QME). Dr. Feinberg is a past president (1996) of the American Academy of Pain Medicine. He served as a longtime member of the Board of Directors of the California Society of Industrial Medicine and Surgery (CSIMS) and served as Year 2001 President. In 2006, he received the Silver Scalpel Award from CSIMS. He serves on the Board of Directors of the American Chronic Pain Association.

Speaker Biography:

Dr. Michael Post completed his post-graduate training at Cornell-North Shore Hospital and Stanford University Medical Center. He is board-certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation with additional board-certification and sub-certification in pain medicine. He is past president of the California Society of Industrial Medicine and Surgery and the California Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and has been a QME since 1996. He is a founder of RehabOne Medical Group and enjoys evaluating patients with chronic musculoskeletal injuries.

Randy Pollak is the Managing Partner, Practice Leader, for Wintersteen | Casarez Law Corp. Mr. Pollak is also the former Managing Editor of the Workers' Compensation Quarterly, which is the official legal journal of the California Lawyers Association. He is a Certified Specialist in Workers' Compensation Law, and a frequent author and speaker in the industry.
