UC Ergonomics Graduate Students arrived in Salt Lake City today for the 17th Annual Regional National Occupational Research Agenda (NORA) Young/New Investigators Symposium

The conference is hosted by the University of Utah’s Rocky Mountain Center for Occupational and Environmental Health (RMCOEH) and Department of Mechanical Engineering.

Four ergo students that presented at the 17th NORA Symposium

Along with meeting new colleagues, all four students will be presenting their research:

  • Nate Poon: Evaluation of a Trunk Supporting Exoskeleton for Reducing Risk for Back Injury due to Fatigue

  • Mengcheng Wang:  Anthropometric Characteristics Analysis of Chinese Auricles for Ergonomic Design Purposes

  • Guangchuan Li:  The impact of mouse weight and connection type on muscle activity and performance while gaming

  • Alex Weisinger:  Using IMUs to predict and quantify the physical demands of a job

The goal of this conference is to assemble interested students (both undergraduate and graduate) and young/new investigators in a forum where NORA-related research can be presented and discussed in a non-threatening atmosphere. We are proud to be represented by these four students!
