06/09/2026: The Evolution of the Occupational Hygiene Profession via Adoption of Technologies

About the webinar:

The presentation aims to focus on the opportunity and responsibility of occupational hygiene to evolve to better protect the workers from several stressors and hazards. Two specific aspects of this evolution will be described. The first aspect is the adoption of a toolbox with different methodologies and technologies for each hazard, that hygienists can use for different objectives. The second aspect is the need for hygienists to interact with other professionals in the workplace: physicians, safety professionals, process engineers, and clearly workers.

Learning Objectives

At the completion of this activity, the learner will be able to:

  • Appreciate the benefit of embracing a toolbox mindset to carry out several activities in their practice

  • Explain the need to study the strengths and limitations of each tool in the toolbox
  • Recognize the need to interact and communicate with other professionals in the workplace and the benefit of using the information from the toolbox to their advantage

Speaker: Emanuele G Cauda, PhD, MSc

Dr. Emanuele Cauda is a professional operating at the intersection of research and practice in occupational health and safety. His work focuses on exposure assessment methodologies, sensor technologies, systems and decision-making frameworks, and the transformation of data into actionable knowledge that supports prevention.
