Bio/CV: 

Dr. Prado completed her doctoral research and received her PhD from UC Davis in June 2021. She is currently a National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute postdoctoral fellow at the Steve Hicks School of Social Work and the Dell Medical School at the University of Texas, Austin, under the guidance of a steering committee at University of Texas Health in San Antonio.  Her ongoing research focuses on investigating cardiovascular disease (CVD) and risk factors among agricultural workers in Texas.  Dr. Prado has been awarded a grant from the NIOSH Southwest Center for Occupational and Environmental Health (SWCOEH) ERC to conduct mixed methods efforts looking at CVD perception, risk, and health seeking behavior among Texas agricultural workers.  After completing her postdoctoral appointment, Dr. Prado plans to pursue an academic career to establish a research and educational program in occupational health and safety with focus on issues faced by agricultural migrant workers.
