She previously worked at Cal/OSHA as an inspector in the Oakland District Office, the Chief of the Occupational Lead Poisoning Prevention Program at the CA Dept of Public Health, and prior to that was as an Industrial Hygienist and Safety & Health Specialist at Chevron supporting operations in various parts of the U.S., Central and South America, and Angola, in West Africa. She completed her Master of Public Health degree at UC Berkeley, and is a Certified Industrial Hygienist and Certified Safety Professional.

Her area of interest is analyzing the impact of toxic chemical exposure from the daily use of disinfectants at construction work sites. Daily disinfectants could contain PFAS, which is a group of man-made chemicals characterized by a strong bond between fluorine and carbon.
