Their first presentation will be on Thursday, March 26th, from 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM Eastern. Dr. Eric Ryan will be presenting on The Roles of Health and Fitness on Occupational Performance and Injury Prevention in Firefighters. This presentation will be available online and in-person at W. Fred Mayes Telecommunication Center (230 Rosenau Hall), UNC/SPH.

Eric Ryan, PhD joined the Department of Exercise and Sport Science as the Stallings Fellow Assistant Professor in the fall of 2011. Dr. Ryan completed his undergraduate work in

Exercise Science at Tulane University (2003) and earned his Masters and Doctoral degree in Exercise Physiology from Florida Atlantic University (2005) and the University of Oklahoma (2009), respectively. He has published over 110 peer-reviewed papers examining the influence of acute and chronic stressors on neuromuscular function, with a recent focus in occupational health. He was awarded the Young Investigator of the Year Award (2011) and earned Fellow status (2018) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
