Doctor looking at a disease frequency map

The intellectual focus of this core program is the study of occupational causes of disease and injury with the ultimate objective of prevention.

The UC Berkeley faculty has a long and distinguished record of research in this area, ranging from case-control studies of childhood leukemia and parental benzene exposure to longitudinal studies of reproductive effects of pesticides in farm workers and their children and the incidence of carpal tunnel syndrome in production and computer workers.
